Recommended Hardware Configuration

Web Application Server

Each of the Application Servers is recommended to have the following specifications:

  • 2 x Intel Xeon Processor
  • 4 GB ECC Memory
  • 2 x 18.2GB HDD 15K RPM Hardware Mirrored RAID 1
  • Windows 2003 Server

Due to the nature of the Application Servers, you may need more than one to support load balancing. It is recommended not to load the server with more than 100 concurrent users.

In such scenarios, Server Blades are a good choice to look into. As you expand, you simply add more blades.

Sizing Example: If you have 1000 concurrent users accessing the system at the same time, it is recommended to have 10 blades, each with the above specifications.

FIX Engine

The FIX engine recommended hardware is:

  • 2 x Intel Xeon Processor
  • 4 GB ECC Memory
  • 2 x 18.2GB HDD 15K RPM Hardware Mirrored RAID 1
  • Windows 2003 Server

Database Server

If you are running high availability database cluster, you will have to obtain two separate servers. Hardware vendors may implement SQL Server clustering differently. Please refer to your hardware vendor for SQL server clustering options.

The following configuration is required for Stand-Alone Database installations:

  • 4 x Intel Xeon Processor
  • 8 GB ECC Memory
  • 5 x 33.6GB HDD 15K RPM Hardware Mirrored RAID 5
  • Windows 2003 Server (Enterprise Edition if clustering)
  • MS SQL Server 2000 (Enterprise Edition if clustering)
